Service Description
Dry needling is an invasive modality which involves a needle with no fluid transferring into the tissues (hence the name dry needling). The needle is inserted into the skin and muscle as a means of treating sport injuries, reducing muscle pain, eliminating trigger points and increasing range of movement. It is aimed at myofascial trigger points (MTrP) which are hyperirritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with a hypersensitive palpable nodule in a taut band.[1] Dry needling may provide relief for some muscular pain and stiffness. In addition, easing the trigger points may improve flexibility and increase range of motion. Trigger point dry needling can be carried out at superficial or deep tissue level.
